It’s hard to pay attention to your evening routine when you know you’re getting up early and you are already feeling exhausted. But if you knew that only 15 minutes spent taking care of your skin before going to bed would make a huge difference in the morning, allowing you to shine and look fresh, wouldn’t you be ready to make a habit out of it?
No harm in checking out a couple of these night time tips that will make your morning so much easier.
1. Get a humidifier
If your skin is very dry during winter, it’s clear you constantly need to keep it hydrated. Of course, it’s really important to drink plenty of water throughout the day, but investing in a humidifier would be of great help, too. No matter how much water you drink, your skin will still get dry during the night, and a humidifier will keep moisture in the air, hydrating your skin while you sleep.
2. Your pillowcase does make a difference
You probably haven’t thought of this, but changing your pillowcase every week will solve the problem of dirt and oil from your hair and sweat coming into contact with your face. You’ll notice changes. Fact – there will be fewer breakouts on the sides of your face. Another trick is to sleep on a silk pillowcase – silk prevents creasing and wrinkles, as this material simply glides across your skin.
3. Obligatory cleaning
You wouldn’t go to bed in clothes you were wearing all day, would you? It’s the same with your skin – it needs to be clean before you go to sleep, no matter what. Your skin will look best if you wash it, use a clay mask and then put a rich moisturizer. This is also how you prevent breakouts and dry skin in the morning.
4. Coffee scrubs
This is the latest hype when it comes to skincare, but for a good reason – coffee scrubs freshen up dull skin through exfoliating it, firming it and activating circulation – all at the same time. When you’re taking a hot shower before going to bed, use a full-body coffee scrub – it will make your skin unbelievably smooth and ready for the next day.
5. Lemongrass oil as a toner
Maybe it’s not one of the most popular oils that you’ve read about, but it sure deserves your attention. This oil will detoxify your skin and regenerate it, but the best thing about it is that it isn’t hard on your skin because it can be diluted with water or olive oil. Use a cotton pad when applying it to clean skin and you’ll soon notice the difference in the morning.
6. Take care of your cuticles
Your hands are always for everyone to see, so you should pay more attention to it, especially to cuticles. It’s a quick and simple routine – wash your hands with warm water, and when they get dry, apply coconut oil, put on some gloves and let it stay on your hands overnight. This will help you remove cuticles easier and leave your nail beds soft.
7. Oral hygiene
During the eight hours of sleep, a lot can happen to your mouth and teeth, and you’ll agree that having a healthy smile is what people first notice. This is why you need to brush your teeth before going to bed, as it will prevent plaque buildup and tooth decay.
Flossing is the next step because it removes food particles that would otherwise help bacteria in your mouth increase during the night and damage your teeth. Mouthwash is the next necessity because it strengthens your teeth and treats certain oral conditions. The important thing is these products to be of high quality; otherwise, they won’t be of much use.
All in all
To be able to wake up in the morning and look like a glowing goddess isn’t as difficult as you thought, right? Just 15 minutes in the evening can save you at least an hour in the morning and nurture your skin in the long run. Isn’t that motivating enough?
