Rubber band hairstyles are fun and playful ways to style your kid’s hair. Just as the name implies, it simply involves the use of rubber bands to create beautiful patterns and sections in the hair.
Rubber bands are small elastics that are used to tie and hold the hair. They come in so many different colors. So it’s really a matter of choice when it comes to the color to use. There are black hair rubber bands and colorful ones.
For a kid’s hair, we recommend colorful rubber bands. These allow you to create unique and beautiful hair designs for your child’s hair whiles adding up as a hair accessory at the same time. It is a great hairstyle for the spring season and summer months, because of how striking and colorful they are.
So if you are always holding your child’s hair in a ponytail because that’s the easiest hairstyle you can do, here are some rubber band hairstyles that are also easy to do but look more beautiful than a simple ponytail. These rubber band hairstyles are fairly easy to do. All you need are some rubber bands for hair in different colors.
Rubber band Hairstyles
Diagonal rubber band hairstyle
To recreate this look for your little ones, divide their hair into three diagonal sections, front, middle, and back. Hold each section with a hair clip. Now take the middle section and further divide it into four smaller diagonal sections. Then proceed to divide each section into smaller pieces and hold them with rubberbands diagonally until you are done with each section. Now remove the hair clips and tie the hair in a bun at a slant.
Rubber bands and bows
The rubber bands are beautiful alright, but you can still go ahead and jazz up your little girl’s hair with more accessories like a hair bow. The red and white rubber bands coupled with the polka dots hair bow make this hairstyle strikingly beautiful. Hold their hair in a bun and add a cute hair bow just like Minnie’s.
Lovely heart hairstyle
This rubber band hairstyle comes with two large cornrows in a curve that makes it look like a heart-shaped hairstyle. Don’t forget to accessorize with a cute bow or little colorful hair clips.
Side rubber band hairstyle
For this hairstyle, the rubber bands only go to one side of the hair. Whiles the other side is sleeked down. And held in a low ponytail.
Whiles you can secure the hair in a bun, ponytail or puff, you can also let it loose and let it run straight back.
Crisscross rubber band hairstyle
The crisscross is a very popular and trendy way of styling the hair with rubber bands. To do this, section the hair into diamond pieces and secure each piece with a hair band. Now connect the pieces in an overlapping cisscross pattern. Then hold the hair in either a bun, puff or ponytail.
Double bun hairstyle
Why do one bun when you can have two. Double the buns, double the fun. Hold your child’s in two buns like these ones below.
Pigtails are also great for rubber band hairstyles. Add rubber bands to their hair in whatever pattern you desire, then as you get to the back, secure the hair in pigtails. To do pigtails, secure your hair in two sections and hold them in two side ponytails. Now plait each side of the hair and that’s it, you have your pigtails.
Bands and buns
A bun is an elegant hairstyle even for little girls. Add a rubber band pattern to your child’s hair to add flair to their bun. You can accessorize the bun or leave it plain. It’s beautiful and elegant either way.
Rubber band updo
If you don’t want the colorful rubber band hairstyles, you can also try to use black rubber bands instead. This will still create a gorgeous hairdo but without all the striking colors.
