Travel Tips For Packing Your Summer Jewellery

With the harsh UK winter nearly behind us, it’s time to start thinking about summer – the season of sunshine, tropical getaways, and relaxation. As you prepare to jet off to paradise, make sure to pack your jewellery wisely with these handy tips.

Tips for Packing Jewellery

Small Ziplock Bags

Ziplock bags are incredibly useful for keeping your jewellery safe and organised. Place each piece in a separate bag, seal it, and store them together in a sock or pouch, just remember where you put them! These bags can also come in handy for other small essentials like swimming earplugs or SD cards. A little planning ensures your jewellery stays secure throughout your travels.

Leave Expensive Jewellery At Home

You might be tempted to include that stunning pair of diamond earrings with you when you jet off to a tropical paradise. But in all honesty, you are better off leaving it in the concealed safe. Travelling increases the risk of losing items, not to mention the chance that someone might decide to steal your valuable jewellery, so leave the precious stones at home.

As tempting as it may be to bring your dazzling diamond earrings or cherished designer pieces, it’s often best to leave them behind. Travelling increases the risk of misplacing valuables or becoming a target for theft. Keep your precious jewellery safely stored at home, in a secure location like a concealed safe.

Brands like Nomination UK, available at retailers like John Greed, are best left behind when travelling, especially if you’ll be spending time at the beach or in the ocean. A good rule of thumb, if losing an item would cause you stress, don’t bring it.

Packing Necklaces

Necklaces can be tricky to pack without tangling. Try threading each necklace through a thick straw to keep it straight, then clasp it at the ends. For extra security, use a cloth pouch or jewellery roll. Just be sure not to accidentally discard the straw when unpacking!

Storing Rings Safely

Rings are small and easy to lose, so take precautions. Wrap each one in tissue and place them together in a soft cloth bag. I agree to not pack all of your jewelry for one trip. And, def. don’t put anything in your checked bag that means a lot to you. I had my luggage lost (thankfully I got it back the next day) on a trip last summer and I had some jewelry in that bag that I could have never replaced. Def. carry it on and don’t pack too many items that mean a lot!

These are all great tips! I try to only bring a minimal amount of jewelry with me and then I have a cloth pouch that has different compartments. Necklaces are always a challenge though.

Great tips !
I always use small pockets for my small necklaces and small earrings.
But sometimes it doesn’t avoid the knots and it’s so annoying to take off the knots.

Good tips. I totally agree that you’re better off leaving your expensive jewelry at home. It would be so terrible to loose or forget an expensive piece there when you’re on vacation. I use baggies too. They really do a great job of keeping things separated and untangled.
