DIY Vitamin C Serum With Glycerin

Take control of your skincare routine while saving some money

Materials

  • 1 tsp pure vitamin C powder (L-ascorbic acid)
  • 4 tsp distilled water
  • 1 tsp vegetable glycerin
  • Small dark glass bottle

Instructions

  • Start by sterilizing your small dark glass bottle. With warm soapy water, clean it thoroughly and rinse well. Sterilization is essential to prevent any bacterial growth and maintain the integrity of the serum.
  • In a small bowl, mix 1 teaspoon of pure vitamin C powder with 4 teaspoons of distilled water. Stir gently until the powder is completely dissolved in the water. It's crucial to use distilled water to avoid any impurities that tap water may contain.
  • Add 1 teaspoon of vegetable glycerin to the vitamin C solution. Glycerin will provide additional moisturizing benefits to your skin, making it soft and supple
  • Transfer the mixture into your sterilized glass bottle using a small funnel or dropper. Make sure to cap the bottle tightly to prevent air exposure, as vitamin C oxidizes quickly when exposed to light and air
  • Store the serum in a cool, dark place, such as a bathroom cabinet or refrigerator. The absence of light and heat will help maintain the serum's stability and extend its shelf life
