How To Easily Do Strobing Makeup Technique

Okay, so there is this new makeup trend called strobing. Which is pretty much highlighting without contouring. I decided to give it a try and it seemed pretty easy.

While contouring can be very challenging, strobing seems quite doable.
You apply your foundation as you usually would. After which you highlight the points where the sun would naturally hit. And that is along your cheekbones, bridge of nose, forehead and chin.

Steps involved in strobing

Moisturize your face

Before you begin to apply any makeup, the first thing to do is to moisturize your face. So moisturize your face like you would any other day.

Apply a primer

The next step is to apply a primer. The primer is a very essential step in a makeup application as it helps the foundation to glide on smoothly whiles acting as a barrier between your skin and the makeup.

If you have oily skin, use a mattifying primer and if you have dry skin, then use a hydrating primer.

Apply foundation and concealer

Now apply your foundation. Be sure to use a foundation that is best for your skin tone. Always make sure your foundation matches the colour of your neck.

Also, use a concealer in your shade to cover up any blemishes or dark spots.

Apply powder

Now, with your powder brush, apply some powder on your face to blend your makeup and give you that flawless look.

Now strobe

When you are done with the makeup, it is now time for the strobing makeup technique. With strobing, you only highlight the parts of your face where sunlight will naturally hit.

That is the cheekbones, the corner of your eyes, under your eyebrow bone, your cupid’s bow and whichever part of your face you like to highlight.

With this, you only highlight those parts using a cream or powder highlighter in a shade lighter than you. With strobing, you don’t contour. So no need for a bronzer, just highlight.

When you are down, you will have a soft natural dewy makeup look. Simple right?
